Benjamin woke up on a cool clear day with a feeling of complete serenity. He set to packing his satchel for school and added all the usual things, his books, his pens, his lunch and last of all his ego . But wait he couldn’t find it. “What will I do without my ego?” he cried, panicking at the thought of facing the world without his main form of defence. He started tearing his room apart even ripping up the carpet but his ego was nowhere to be seen. He thought he may have left it downstairs, down he ran to search but with no luck. Finally he decided he would have to face reality and head off without his beloved ego. As he walked down the road everything seemed clearer, the serenity he woke with had returned and he realized that he didn’t need his ego after all and was in fact better off without it.
